Air-to-Air Video
My Very Own Video!
You will probably never forget the day you made your first skydive, but many people
choose to pay the extra money to have our skilled videographers capture the intensity, euphoria, and fun of your
first skydive on video. This video will allow you to relive this experience over and over
again with your friends, family, or even just by yourself.
Our video service brings together a member of our video staff, and
YOU,
the "Star Lead" of your own, personalized video. We strive to re-create, on tape,
your fabulous experience at Skydive Virginia.
Here are some items that we want you to know about skydiving videography.
Reservations, for video, are strongly suggested to help us make sure we are there to highlight your
jump on video.
What to expect
- A unique skydiving video, 'starring' YOU!
- Each Video runs anywhere from 6 to 10 minutes in length.
- Videos most often include:
- Some pre-jump, 'ground' footage
- A brief 'interview'
- Footage in the plane
- Freefall footage
- Some post-jump footage during and/or after landing.
- The video is set to music (2 to 3 songs), which can often times be tailored to your taste.
- We strive to produce your video as soon as reasonably possible after your jump.
What not to expect:
- A video -exactly- like another's. This is a custom-made, personally tailored video record of your skydiving experience - Like we said, it is unique!
- A video which is exactly X minutes long. Length is dependent on a variety of factors, including weather, exit altitude, and your participation as the 'star' of the video. Often, the best videos are those that are short and sweet.
- Your video completed immediately after your jump. You may have to wait for your video. Our aerial videography staff is of a limited size, and we try our best to accommodate every student's video needs as best we can. Sometimes the demand for our skills is extremely high on a particular day, and you may find yourself waiting up to an hour and a half to get your video mixed on to VHS. Trust us, it is worth it. See the section "How to Help Us" for tips on expediting this process.
How to Help Us:
- Be alive! This is -your- video about -your- skydiving experience, so lets see those pearly whites, and tell us what you are feeling.
- Be Patient. We know that making a tandem jump often can be a lengthy process, and getting a video can make it even longer. We are here to make you happy as best we can - help us by understanding the limits of what we can accomplish.
- Be prompt and flexible with your music selection. If you want to choose the music for your video, start thinking of 2 to 3 songs now. There is a playlist available if you want some inspiration, and a place for you to write down your choices. It is best if you can narrow this before or immediately after your jump. If you are stuck, let our videographers help you! We have compiled a collection of music that can fit almost every taste and every video style.
- If you -must- leave, tell us ahead of time. While we favor giving you your personal skydive video the day you jump, we understand that sometimes people need to leave before the video is complete. We are willing to ship the video to you for the cost of postage, but you need to tell us ahead of time, if possible.
- Give us feedback when you get back home. We love this job, and we are grateful for any feedback you can supply us. Email is often the easiest way:
