I made three static line jumps in Orange, Virginia back in 1984. Back
then, they used old Army surplus stuff for students--pretty scary, but I
didn't know any better. It was still fun! Years went by and I didn't
think much about it--until a couple of years ago. I came out to Skydive
Virginia just to make one jump to see if I'd like it again. I ended up
LOVING it! My, how things had changed! Student gear was square and state
of the art, and they had this new thing called AFF! Shortly after I
started the student program there, I had to undergo some surgery on my
shoulder and was forced to sit out for several months. I came back last
summer and haven't stopped since! I'm having fun!! I'm not very good,
but I'm having fun--that's what counts!
